Held biennially, it alternates between Hanover, Germany, and Milan, Italy. In 2015, the exhibition will be held in Milan, hosted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tool, robotics, and automation systems manufacturers' association, under the theme "Build the future."
This exhibition is one of the most authoritative and professional events in the global machine tool and manufacturing technology industry. It showcases cutting-edge and innovative technologies in the machine tool and manufacturing field, serving as a window to human ingenuity and creativity. It holds a significant leading position, especially in the international metal processing field. The EMO is a driving force for innovation for countless manufacturers; almost all groundbreaking production engineering technology innovations debut at the EMO. Global machine tool industry users and professional audiences focus on EMO to quickly and comprehensively understand the latest technologies and the most complete production innovation achievements.
EMO-Hanover 2013: The total exhibition area was 180,582 square meters, with 82,748 square meters occupied by German companies and 97,834 square meters by international exhibitors (approximately 54% of the total area). 2,131 manufacturing companies from 43 countries showcased various machine tools, including 849 from Germany. The six-day exhibition attracted 145,000 professional visitors from over 80 countries and regions. International visitors accounted for 41.2%, mainly from Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Russia, Austria, Turkey, Poland, France, Denmark, Czech Republic, China, Belgium, Japan, Spain, the United Kingdom, Norway, India, and the United States. Over two-thirds of the visitors were satisfied with the exhibition.
EMO-Milan 2009: The exhibition area covered 100,000 square meters, with 1,404 exhibiting companies from 39 countries and regions. 905 were foreign exhibitors (64.5%), with 38.4% from European countries (excluding Italy) and 26.1% from other countries. The top ten countries and regions in terms of the number of foreign exhibitors were Germany, Taiwan, China, Switzerland, Spain, Japan, the United States, South Korea, France, and the United Kingdom. 124,660 visitors attended from 99 countries and regions, with 41.3% being international visitors, mainly from Germany, Switzerland, France, India, Russia, Japan, the United States, Finland, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Overall, the 2009 exhibition, held against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, exceeded the expectations of most attendees.
After a six-year interval, the EMO returned to Italy. As the world's fourth-largest machine tool producer and fifth-largest consumer, Italy's hosting of this exhibition benefits exhibiting companies and professional visitors worldwide. The goal is to ensure exhibitors achieve the best possible results, and that visiting companies also benefit.
